Don´t Worry Be Happy

A GLOBAL study of student welfare has found schoolchildren in Australia are under extreme pressure to succeed compared to the rest of the world.

Dear stressed out student. Put your books down and rest assured. Your grades aren´t as important for your future career as you might think.

Novicell Director Per Kirchner would rather like to see your travel photos than your grade cards.

Under Pressure

In a chronic in the Danish newspaper Politiken he writes that he´s not at all surprised over the fact that more and more Danish students rely on behind the counter prescription drugs to ease their exam related anxiety. It seems that in the students mind the exam results are the thing that will determent if they´ll ever get a successful career. They couldn´t be more wrong, according to Kirchner. And he knows what he´s talking about. For over 20 years he´s worked as a business manager and he says he´s never seen a connection between top grades and a successful career.

- I´ve seen top grade students completely fail in their work of line and I´ve seen a lot of young people with bad grades rise and achieve great success.

So to all the students out there who have a delusional belief that this is it. It´s not how well you go on your exams that will determine your life. Take a deep breath and just relax. Hopefully, this will put you exam anxiety in perspective.

-Your grades do not matter to me. To get hired it´s much more important that you´re a hard worker, you´re good at what you do, you have the personality for it and that you´re a responsible person.

-I find it more interesting to have a chat with a new potential employee that has involved them self in the scout or as a handball couch or even slept in a filthy hotel in Katmandu. I would much rather you show me your travel photos than you grade card.

The message to at the anxious students out there is to get your exams over with and go out and enjoy life. And when you decide what you want to do in life, make sure you choose something you´re good at so you can offer those skills. Do something you´re passionate about and show your future employer that you´ve got what it takes to success in your field of work and show them you can deliver the goods.

-I´m sure everything will work out just fine.

Who would not want to work for this man?
